I'm almost finished with "Anansi Boys." Ohmygods it is good. Oh my. I will be posting a full review soon. It's like watching a movie while riding in a fast car while listening to fast, hard music.

I didn't feel like my usual vanilla latte this morning, so before I left the house I took a yerba mate capsule. I'll have to buy another bottle soon. It's good stuff. I have also been taking omega-3 every day, morning and night. It's made an incredible difference for the inflammation, sciatica, and asthma. My knee barely hurts anymore.

I did a stupid thing last week. This is a harsh reminder to never wash one's face with hand soap from an office restroom. I kept getting ink and dirt on my face on Friday, and Monday and Tuesday; so I washed my face with the liquid soap in the bathroom because I did not have my own facial cleanser. And now my face has been completely stripped of all its natural oils. I look windburned, even sunburned. My skin hurts. It is dry and tight and flaming red. I am wearing concealer, I have to: Earth's Beauty, which is a mineral cream concealer, which contains zinc and jojoba and chamomile, so it is at least gentle and soothing. I can practically sleep with it on. I emailed Tricia, of AnnaBellina.com, who often acts as my aesthetician, and she suggested not washing my face for a week or putting on lots of moisturizer. Just gently cleanse it with organic vaginal wipes (they are super gentle) and only apply a pure carrier oil, like the camellia oil I carry around. Keep taking the fish oil and drink lots of filtered water. Don't do anything else, let my skin repair itself. I will see how it is next week.
Note to self: Keep gentle face cleanser in desk drawer at work.

Ouch. :(

Is the air in your office dry? I keep a bottle of V'Tae "Damage Soother" mist on my desk at work, which contains: lavender hydrosol, water, green tea, chamomile, aloe vera, cucumber, witch hazel, sea buckthorn, grapefruit seed extract, plant glycerin.
It's very soothing and refreshing, I recommend it.

Yes, the air is unbelievably dry. It exacerbates the eczema on my hands something fierce. My boss just turned on the little humidifier he'd put in my office, which is helping.

I've been using the PS Signature Toner from AnnaBellina.com:

Humidifiers are great! I'm not sure if you're allowed to do this at work, but if you put a drop or two of essential oil in the humidifier it's really divine.

You can also "wash" your face with olive oil. Makes your skin really lovely.

I keep meaning to try that whole Oil Cleansing Method with olive oil. Might be a good time to start.

I gave it up during the summer due to the heat and my face being an oil slick. I'm going to start doing it again. I'm starting to look my age and that doesn't work for me ;-)
