My family has a history of...is clairaudiance a word? Hearing instead of seeing. My Mom can have very brief conversations with those who've died.
But mostly seeing ghosts. I actually hadn't seen any ghosts for quite awhile until Saturday, when I went to my sister's house to see her and my niece and nephews as the anniversary of my brother-in-law's death approached, I saw him watching me from the front window while the house was empty. As soon as I saw him he turned and moved away. So Mom went in the next day to see if she could find out what was going on; apparently the feeling she got was that he considered it his duty to stay close by and keep an eye on his family unless someone else was there. So it seems he ducked out for awhile until I left, too.
