Guess what just happened?
Feb. 3rd, 2005 07:54 pmI had just made dinner, and my and Adam's private phone rang. I ran to grab it. It was Watson, sounding as if he was in a huge crowd. He said there was someone there who I'd want to talk to. A few seconds later, I heard... my dad! Watson had made it to the gallery opening. Dad said it was going wonderfully; dozens of people were there. Some of my cousins were there, as was my uncle Joe. I spoke to Mom briefly, and then got back to Watson. He said that several people were interested in buying several of Dad's sculptures, including the extraordinary Odysseus sculpture -- and I will be very sad to see such a brilliant, magnificent piece go, but I'll be happy that it sold, of course. Watson hopes they all sell. So do I, naturally -- but it'll be emotional. Daddy does such amazing work. Each piece is like a child.
I'm so thrilled -- thank you, Watson; you just made my day.
