exhale is the problem
Oct. 17th, 2006 11:04 amDear lungs, you don't suck enough (air). Love Jo.
Of all the days to have a mild constant asthma attack on top on the allergic rhinitus. I don't like taking the Primatene tablets, but I did, because I couldn't take the crushing and the wheezing and the hot pressure. MSM did help -- a teeny bit. I haven't been taking it enough. I should just keep a bottle of Vitamin C tablets and a bottle of Goji berry capsules (or just goji berries) in my purse. The Primatene makes me so jittery. Vitamin C is good. The one time I don't have anything with peppermint oil.
The Primatene is working. I know this because I am breathing much better but my hands are shaking.
I don't want to have to rely on Primatene and Albuterol. I should call Mom and find out what vitamins she takes for her asthma. I think she once mentioned CoQ10.
You know, it's so funny... my parents are 57 and 66 and neither of them have ever taken any long term prescription medication. Now, Mom only uses an Albuterol inhaler when she needs it, and Dad takes a baby dose of Klonopin every other day for Restless Leg Syndrome. That's it. Healthy as you could be, and they only take supplements and they eat right and exercise and do yoga. They take chlorella and spirulina. Mom is hypoglycemic, Dad is lactose intolerant. Health is controlled with vitamins, fruits, vegetables, fish, nuts, oils, etc. Occasional meat, poultry and dairy (Mom makes the world's best pot roast and meatloaf and roast chicken). No history of any problems. No nothing. It's unbelievable.
The only issue I have with going home for vacations is that Mom won't let me eat too many sugary treats and snacks (and that's hardly an issue), unless she's baking her own brownies or cakes or cookies: and she uses Xylitol in place of sugar, and orange juice, and soy or rice milk, and organic stuff. Then again, I won't complain. My parents are so healthy I don't mind being influenced.
I really need to eat more vegetables, anyway.
