Adam thinks I have carpal tunnel syndrome. I don't think so. It's been going on for a few days now. My wrist is burning and tense, no sharp pain upon movement or pressure, no difficulty moving the hand. But my hand often feels numb when the pain throbs, the fingers burning and tingling, feeling "asleep". Possible nerve damage, possible tendon damage, definitely severe inflammation. Probably strain or sprain. Who knows. Years ago in college, I sprained my wrist badly and it never healed probably, so this is probably its demon coming back to haunt.
It would be my right wrist, too. I do everything with my right hand.
I'll ice it again tonight, look for an ace bandage to wrap it in, try to keep it from bending too much.
One more problem. I'm starting to become callous about it all. I already experience chronic widespread nonspecific pain from cerebral palsy anyway -- and plenty of localized specific pains (sciatica, knee arthritis, ankle problems, lumbar pain, total back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, migraines, jaw pain, overall muscle spasms). Why not add "chronic wrist pain left over from past sprain/injury" to the list.
Meh.
Good news, however: I have chocolate. And Vitamin Water has a new flavor, XXX. With acai, pomegranate, and blueberry. Heaven, really. I am already very hooked.
