Last night. Sitting at my laptop. I stared at it. I stared at it. Words right there, on that screen, cursor ready at a new paragraph. Waiting. Another line of dialogue waiting.
This is where I had stopped:

Kara raised her eyebrows. "I really don't like the way you said that."
Her eyes still closed, Dana smiled. She pressed her hands to her eyes, tilting her face upward. “Yeah, Ian didn’t like it either. That’s how we wound up like this.”
"Beg pardon?" Kara glanced at Ian, who shrugged, grinned, and explained, smiling all the way. Dana got dressed and handed Ian his clothes.
After Ian finished his story, Alex folded his arms and looked at Dana.

This is where I need to go:
Dana needs to reassure them that she won't give herself to Jeremy in a desperate ploy to make him stop the destruction. Dana needs to lie. Because she really wants to save the world. Because sacrifice is required. Because for her, That's Who Phoenix Is. Ian needs to believe her. Kara or Alex needs to be skeptical. Dialogue needs to continue.
And then it needs to keep going. I have the end planned out, you know? I know exactly what will happen when Dana arrives at the abandoned psychiatric institution and confronts Jeremy, who has lost himself in his cracked and damaged mind, overtaken by shadows and the Shadow itself. I know exactly what happens afterwards. I know what Ian will do.

But I am not at the end yet.

This is Chapter 23.

Why can't I go?

*frustration*

That's all. Thanks for listening.

*continues chipping at block*

Tomorrow, Adam drives off to Atlanta, GA. From Saturday until Wednesday, he'll be working at a Hyatt Regency hotel, setting up and running computers for a meeting featuring the Department Of Education and the Early Head Start Program. He's done the exact same thing in DC, at the Washington Hilton; the Department Of Education has a lot of meetings especially about Early Head Start.

On Saturday, I will be meeting with Linda Stein, creator and owner of Zosimos Botanicals Natural Skin Care. She's the very sweet lady who makes the most awesome skin cream, the Anti-Element Emollient -- which, at my personal request, now has tamanu and helichrysum oils. *does happy dance*
Over the course of our email exchange last month about the tamanu and helichrysum, Linda asked if I wanted to be a sort of independant contractor, and work with her extremely part time when the need arises, on weekends, in exchange for free products and knowledge of skin care and ingredients. I would not be paid, however, which is fine by me. I just want the experience; and free stuff is always good.
Saturday will be our first meeting, so we can figure out how it will happen. She's willing to pick me up from my house and bring me home, too. I would help her out at local trade shows, and come to her home to help out with making products and other projects. She may not always need my help, but it's nice to know that help will be there if she does need it. I'll be happy to do it.

(Oh, and Linda just told me that the most recent issue of the magazine Woman's World has a 20% off coupon code for Zosimos Botanicals products, on page 25)

So. I am completely in love with the new formulation of the Anti-Element Emollient. With the addition of tamanu and helichrysum that I asked for, plus a few other ingredients, the cream (I should say balm or butter) is softer and easier to work with. I can smell the nutty butter pecan scent of the tamanu mixed with the crisp sharp honey tea scent of helichrysum, complementing the sweet smooth orange berry scent of the sea buckthorn (ah, my trifecta). My hands haven't cracked once, or shown a single eczema flare, since I started slathering the stuff on them. My face, too, has completely cleared up. No more blemishes. I technically don't even need makeup at this point, but when I do wear foundation my skin looks flawless, and the Emollient makes a great base for makeup too. It's just a fantastic all-around skin balm.

This made me giggle madly. They have great senses of humor. Neil Gaiman is love.

I am willing to see the film again, to see all the things I missed (when I had my eyes half closed because Grendel is really hideous). I love the way Neil assured that it was just an introspective retelling of a very very old story with unreliable narrators, and that English literature geeks and nerds really should't get so crazily obsessed. Go, Neil.
