Birthday Day
Apr. 6th, 2008 04:54 pmAdam gave me birthday money, and I decided to buy a couple of elegant formal dresses. Mostly because I have been invited to two weddings, one of which is next Saturday. But also because it would be lovely to have such things in my closet. I don't think I've worn a fancy formal dress in my adult life. I had no idea what to look for. Thank gods Charlotte was with me. She picked out two stunners at JC Penney, both on sale: A deep purple sleeveless gown that stopped just past my knees, with a rhinstone pattern around the waist; and a slightly longer black and red dress with sparkle and shine and roses embroidered in the bust. We went to Payless for the shoes, and found black slingback wedges that I can actually balance in. I haven't worn anything but fashion boots in ten years. It felt strange, but nice.
My poor husband is in itchy itchy hell. I wish I could do more for him. The medication hasn't quite gotten through his system enough to ease the itching or the rashes.
I am in a very intense fibro flare, but it's okay because I'm home, and my husband is here, and we can ache together lounging on the couch while watching TV. And I have a chocolate chip cookie.
Thank you, everyone, for all the birthday wishes and love. You make me happy.
