Photosensitivity and seizures
Apr. 14th, 2009 07:49 amI discovered this by lucky accident: Hitting the ESC key while looking at an animated or flashing LJ icon will stop said icon from animating or flashing.
This is possibly one of the best discoveries I could have made this week. I have recently found that my seizure threshold plummets when I see animated or flashing icons. Rather than asking the poster to change his or her icon, I can just make it stop. This is good, this is good.
(Also, there were a few posts in the epilepsy community about people being actively hostile toward epileptics and deliberately using flashing and animate icons with malicious intent, specific intent to cause seizures. Holy fuck, people are assholes sometimes.)
