Mm. I'm an idiot.
You know how you unconsciously bite and nibble the inside of your lower lip until it bleeds a little and then you can't stop playing with it and you keep worrying at it with your tongue? I did that last night, and now the right half of my lower lip is beautifully swollen. It's fascinating, really. First time that ever happened. From the outside, all I see is some swelling, and if I pull the lip away from my mouth, I can see the tissue that's turned white as the flesh tries to heal. Damn, but I love biology.
Adam suggested that I rinse with Listerine and hydrogen peroxide for a day or two until it heals. Eventually, once it starts healing, I will be using balms that contain neem oil and tamanu oil and other anti-inflammatory ingredients that sooth skin irritation (Vicki, your Gaia Oil might be just the thing).
I just have to figure out if there are any foods that will aggravate the wound. We made pasta with shrimp and vegetables in a cheese sauce for dinner, and I'd like to have the leftovers.

I almost look like I could be related to Angelina Jolie. Almost. (Or at least Shiloh.)

I should go back to sleep for a while. Adam just left for work -- he's off to New York City again. He'll be home in a day or two.
Any anecdotes and suggestions regarding bitten and swollen lips?

I dreamed last night that I was living in a deck of Tarot cards, moving from card to card by walking over small bridges made of starlight. The deck was not like any I recognized (not Rider-Waite or Robin Wood or Fairy Wicca or Dragon or even Vertigo), but everyone and everything was inhumanly beautiful. Like, high-definition shining light in a glade beautiful. The most terrifying card was the Tower. The Devil looked sort of handsome. Death was gorgeous. The Hermit had one of the shiniest cloaks I'd ever seen.
At one point I got stuck between the Queen of Wands and the Queen of Cups, and the only way to get to the next card was to absorb both Queens temporarily and push myself. Obviously not symbolic of anything there, nope, I certainly don't have traits related to both cards, haha. And then, unexpectedly, I was shoved into the High Priestess card and I stayed there for a while, absorbing her temporarily. Of course, this is also not at all symbolic of traits that I also have. Nah.
At the end of the whole journey, I met up with my youngest cat, Rose, between two huge trees, and I picked her up and walked over a curved wooden bridge toward a small suburban house. Before I could open the door, the dream ended.
Dreams are funny.
