I decided to go to YouTube and play videos of meowing kittens to see how my own cats might react.
Rose jumped up onto my lap, mewed a few times, nipped my thigh, rubbed her face against my face, and stared at me very anxiously. Jupiter got up on the couch, meowed in confusion, and then put his mouth around Rose's scruff for every mewl the laptop emitted. He then came toward me, growled mildly, and nipped at my wrist a few times, meowing imploringly. He then would nip at my hand, reaching out with a paw and pulling my hand away from the keyboard. He would lean in very close to the laptop, growl slightly, then meow. This alarmed me, so I closed the browser. Luna, meanwhile, merely walked around the room, ears pricked up.
I think Jupiter's agitation will keep me from playing any meowing cat videos in his earshot from now on.
