Just call me Persephone
Oct. 20th, 2009 09:08 amAwesome: Pomegranate Greek yogurt. Chobani. It was on sale.
Not awesome: The toilet in the upstairs bathroom overflowing madly at seven in the morning, and the downstairs hallway having a tiny flood because of the leak in the upstairs bathroom floor which is the ceiling for the upstairs hallway.
I called Charlotte's house hoping to talk to Billy, who knows plumbing, and wound up talking to Pam, who also knows plumbing. She talked me through turning off the toilet's water, bailing, plunging, and mopping. I then called Billy on his cell phone. He will be coming by after he gets off work at his disaster reconstruction job. Adam has a pipe snake in his toolbox (the non-living metal sort of pipe snake). I did spend an hour sobbing hysterically and calling myself a horrible stupid housewife. And I did have a fibro flare and the beginnings of a migraine. But the floors are clean now, and I can use the downstairs bathroom in the meantime, and towels are being washed, and really it's all right. And the weather will be slightly warm today, so I can open windows to create cross breezes.
I am grateful for a husband who knows how to fix almost every house problem. This little townhouse is old and has issues. And I am grateful for a friend who lives nearby and can also fix most house problems.
Seriously, though, Chobani pomegranate Greek yogurt. With real pomegranate. Awesome.
