My husband and I began dating in late 1999, began cohabiting in late 2001, got married and began living in our own house in early 2005. We never fought, always laughed, told each other everything, apologized immediately when we argued, communicated every uncertainty, talked every day we were separated. We guide each other home.

Really, I just wanted to tell him to have a very happy thirty-fourth birthday. But it's nice to talk about all that good stuff, too.

For the record:
Been dealing with a migraine plus tension headache since yesterday. It finally faded earlier this evening. Had a nosebleed shortly after the fade, which was somewhat copious and lasted under five minutes. Lingering headache, mild dizziness, mild malaise. Happens every summer. Probably a reaction to excessive outside heat and dry indoor air. Will have a chat with my doctor's office tomorrow, just in case I need to look out for anything. I do have a delicate brain. (Also, I am very paranoid about brain aneurysms; my first boyfriend died of one.)

Tomorrow, Adam will fly to Florida to help set up a job in Delray Beach. He'll be there for a week, which will mean good hours and good pay. We have enough groceries, cleaning products, and pet supplies for me to be comfortable until he comes home.

The heat wave may finally be scaling back in central Maryland into the lower nineties. I went to get the mail at four in the afternoon, and the two-minute walk to the mailboxes left me sweating. The two-minute walk back to my house made me want a shower. Several days topping one hundred five degrees Fahrenheit is... excessive. I hear New Mexico is lovely right now.

I am deeply grateful for our French press coffee maker, and our various types of ground coffees.

For dinner, we made tri-color rotini with mushroom marinara, and mixed creamy goat cheese into our individual bowls. It was incredible. Dessert was seedless watermelon. Watermelon is my top favorite fruit. Yes, even over acai berry. Acai berry is number two, followed by goji berry and pomegranate and clementines.
