I Love You, Water
Aug. 21st, 2010 07:25 pmLast night, four good friends came over and we all stayed up until two in the morning, then slept like the dead. Adam left for work at nine. I woke up at noon. Beca and James left around two. Greg and Angela stayed until five. Adam came home shortly after.
Flexeril dries me out, if I take two pills in a twenty-four hour period. I only just discovered this. I am lucky Angela had eye drops, because I have never actually experienced dry eyes and was deeply confused, wondering why my eyes felt full of burning and dryness. I was in the kitchen, and grabbed the giant bottle of pure grapeseed oil, and slathered my arms and face with grapeseed oil just to see how dry I was, and it was insane the way my skin was sucking up grapeseed oil. I then drank a full liter of water. It reminded me of when my doctor gave me samples of a medication for overactive bladder, because we'd thought I had that, and the pills sucked all the moisture out of me. I could not produce tears or saliva or sweat. It freaked me out. It turned out that I did not have overactive bladder, just spastic cerebral palsy with its common effects on bladder muscles.
Things are better now. Also, I am not in pain.
Adam and I are alone now and he is working again tomorrow, and then next week he will be going to San Francisco for a few days. I will continue to hunt for jobs and to work my current non-paying job of aspiring novelist.
