I hate this

How can you make a decent paycheck and still get so raped by taxes and bills that you wind up being poor? I just calculated all the important bills for this month, minus the four hundred for the down payments on the vet bills (have I mentioned how very grateful we are for those donations?). Utilities and stuff are through the roof. And we still need enough money for food, transportation, general fun, and emergencies.
We won't have any money to do anything for our anniversary on the 22nd.
Fucker.
Ah, well. I'm sure we can think of something. We are creative folk. Besides, next year will be another anniversary. See? Optimism.
Seriously, it is all good. I can live. Hell, we got married, ain't that enough!

I know how it is. Before paying bills my government takes 40% of my wages as income tax and 3% for national insurance. When we use the car, we pay over $6.70 a gallon for fuel and when we buy anything we pay 17.5% sales tax.

Unless you are on great wages, you can never win. Most people are on the national minimum wage which works out to be about $9 per hour, and after tax that's about $5, if you can find a job.

It does suck. Technically according to the IRS, Adam and I are almost "somewhat rich" before taxes. Ha ha.

I hate hate hate that. I made a decent wage, we pay a decent amount for rent/housing, and bills make it impossible to have fun at the end of it all.

Understandable. I make a decent amount for someone my age at my stage of my "career". But look at me, this month I'm $100+ short of rent. =P Bills hit me all at once, including unforseen shit hitting me, kinda like your kitty bills.

I haven't even celebrated my anniversy with my boy yet, and that was in Feb. :( We're figuring we'll celebrate it offically on our 1 year 6 month mark, which ironically enough falls right on July 4th.
