hide and seek, cat style?

Jupiter got out while Luna was downstairs. Adam and I watched them. Jupiter chased Luna a bit but did not attack. When she hid he would let out a few mournful, curious mrrows. At one point they were both in our bedroom, on the bed, meatloaf style. I still would not want to leave them alone with each other until I know for certain that there will be no attacking.
This is sooner than I would have liked, but I am grateful it seems to be working. Jupiter has had plenty of time to get to know Luna via smell, sound, etc. However, he will still strike out at Puff, but now it seems more playful. While his hormones are probably still slightly in effect, I am starting to think a large part of this issue is Puff's frank, stubborn, old-lady-bitchy unwillingness to play with anyone, let alone another cat.
Luna, however, seems to be interested enough in Jupiter to stick around. I imagine that fairly soon things will progress from random chasings to tentative licks and face rubs, and maybe one day much later I may find the two cuddling on my bed.
The important thing is, nobody hates each other. Hurrah.
