I'm really big on public transit, since I don't (and can't) drive. Granted, they need to work out a bunch of problems with both the bus system and the metro system, but overall I'm happy with it. It gets me where I need to go. Oh, and I personally get to do it for free! The DC Metro area has a special program for disabled people called MetroAccess. They give you a special photo ID card that you show to bus drivers and train station managers, and you don't have to pay any fares. It expires every four years like a driver's license, so I'll need to renew mine next April.
