Yule 2009, Winter Solstice 2009, etc. Yes. Wheel turns and all that. Gods die and live. Rah Gods. Rah Ra?
I shall express my pagany ways by... um... shopping for friends. And saying hi to trees. And playing with my cats. And keeping warm.
And then there's that other holiday coming up in four days to celebrate. Also, we almost forgot about Hanukkah. We are bad non-practicing Jews.
Thursday is a pot luck party at Wil's. Other than that, no idea.

I has coffee. From Mayorga. Costa Rica Tarrazu. We also have Sumatra Mandheling, but haven't opened it yet.

I'm going to express my pagany ways by taking a metric ton of tramadol and sleeping. But I hope you have a blessed Yule!

I remember seeing a bumper sticker once that said, "Isis! Isis! Ra! Ra! Ra!". It made me chuckle.

My husband and I have always done a small ritual on solstice since we met (6 years ago). It's always brought me peace. I celebrate Christmas (with my family, not as a Christian individual), but my husband and I have our own special time together on this night to feel connected to the universe around us, and all that it does give us.

So Festive Yule, and Blessed Be!

And Rah Ra made me giggle ;)

Yeah, pretty much.

As a child, I celebrated lots of holidays -- my mom's family is Russian Jewish, my dad's family is Italian Catholic, my mother herself is atheist, my father is agnostic with a slight polytheist leaning, and I'm pagan. So I'm used to observing everything. :)

You too! For some reason, solstice 2009 gets me excited too. I may do a small ritual tonight.

Happy Solstice to you too. :-)

I have also celebrated this time of year in many different ways but We usually do a ritual of Our own invention and I'm hoping to have the energy to do that tonight.

I'm glad I dont have the usual stresses that face a lot of Us with eating disorders at this time, being surrounded by, or forced to attend lots of meals. My partner, Perseus, knows about My EDs and isnt a big fan of food Himself and also, He has to work Christmas Day so Ill be alone for the majority of it.

I hope you enjoy, and I hope your love comes home soon enough on Christmas Day!

I am looking forward to the main meal on Christmas Eve; nobody there will make me eat more than I desire. And the food will be very good.

He finishes work at 2.30pm so hopefully will be home by 3pm as usual. I dont usually wake up til then anyway (I'm pretty much nocturnal).

I'm glad nobody will make you eat more than youre comfortable with on Christmas Eve. :-)

yay! Fellow non-practicing Jews! I didn't do anything for Hannukah this year, other than talk with my mother on the phone. I usually light candles at least.
