Okay. It was kind of... bad. Had a ton of weird, pointless problems and issues, but overall it was okay. I don't hate it, but I certainly don't love it. At all.
I still want to punch Russell T. Davies in the mouth and apologize to David Tennant and John Simms.
I cried like a baby once the Doctor answered the four knocks and opened the door. The acting sold it. The script was bizarre and pointless, but David Tennant, John Simms, and Bernard Cribbins managed to spin some of it into tarnished gold.
Honestly, any part with Wilfred made me cry. It wasn't the character, it was the actor. I just wish Donna had been involved.
And the Ood song at the end. Oh, the Ood song.
David Tennant, I will miss the hell out of you. You deserved so much better than RTD's crazy sendoff.
Sigh.

Well, then.
Hello, Eleven!

Spoilers can happen in comments.

No, really, I'm done with RTD. He doesn't get it.

Also: Whoa. Seriously. Wow.

Things I took from it:

-- Disappointment that Gallifrey gets punted back into oblivion; RTD adds another element of the classic Who universe and erases it off the board by episode's end. Daleks, Cybermen, Timelords, they're all reintroduced for a specific event and irreparably wiped out of creation by the end credits. Sigh. Russell, stop breaking all of Steven's toys.

-- Amusement that half of the characters' last names -- even more if you count the Doctor via Verity's book -- are "Smith," or some hyphenated version thereof. (Interesting that Martha kept her name last.)

-- Lack of surprise that the hamhandedly-introduced Chamber of Plot Contrivance would figure into the endgame, even if, as noted last week, these actors pull it off just about pitch-perfect again. Except something was a bit off for one of the surprise cameo stars, and I'm going to just guess it's because it's been a while since we've seen her (and even longer than her supposed chronological appearance).

-- Idle wish that John Simm got paid by the role, because if so, he'd be richer than JK Rowling by now.

Will miss Tennant muchly, but will give Smith (again with the Smithing!) an even chance. Though all it took was once for "Geronimo" to grate on me.

Agreed with everything. Except I want to give Matt Smith a good chance.

Ugh, I knew it was emotionally manipulative to the point of being utterly ridiculous, but I couldn't help it. I cried. When he saw Rose. I bawled.
