I am applauding all the same-sex couples in DC who are lining up for marriage licenses. *applause applause*

Also, according to the anti-gay folks, this is supposed to make my heterosexual marriage invalid or something and I'm supposed to go marry a woman. I'm fine with marrying a woman, though, as long as I can hang on to my (suddenly invalid) husband.

Whatever. I cannot even snark these viewpoints properly. They are insane and ridiculous. Love is love is love and it does not matter.

Yesterday, Beca and James came and got me and we went to the movies to see Alice In Wonderland 3D. It was unexpectedly fantastic. Yes, some of it was weak and odd, but everything else was lovely, and the retelling of the old story was done extremely well. I am impressed.
After the film, we went to The Fractured Prune for doughnuts, Robeks for smoothies, The Royal Mile for dinner, and back to my house for television and conversation. There was also a fascinating discussion on the portrayal and treatment of women in Eli Roth films.

My Ovaltine Honey Mocha is delicious this morning.

When prop eight came around in California, my dad said as he was filling out the voter book that he was voting against it because he thought gay people should have the chance to be as miserable as he is.

My parents have been happily married for over 30 years now.

As for the whole invalidating of marriage, I honestly don't think it would work, at least in my parent's case. My mom says that she wants to divorce my father, take half his money and keep him on the side as a lover.

Honesty, the anti-gay marriage arguments are getting dumber and dumber. We get it, they don't want same-sex marriage. But could they try thinking of an intelligent argument for one?

I would like to see them try to come up with a good reason to deny people basic human rights.

They can't. And they never will. There is no good argument that does not involve religion or personal bias! Anything they can say will center around their own feelings and beliefs, never anything objective or actually realistic.

But they will continue to try. Because humans do that.
