Kali is right. Many Westerners are quite arrogant. The Judeo-Christian god is not the only god. There are billions of gods. And they were here first. If anyone gets to end this world, it's them.

I didn't like this episode as much as I thought I would. I agree with the author of that post. The only thing I did like about the episode was Kali's speech in that clip. The rest seemed disrespectful and irritating. I haven't actually watched the series, but I'd had hopes for this one episode.

actually if you think about it, it SAYS in the 10 commandments that there ARE other gods. "Thou shalt worship no other gods before me."

It does not say "you shalt not worship other gods because I am the only one" it says "thou shalt not worship other gods BEFORE ME." In other words the christian god wants to be recognized FIRST.

Of course my pointing that out at the age of nine amongst other things that didn't chime with what the church elders said got me "invited" out of the church. That was okay, I went and talked to a lot of VERY cool other people that believed a wide variety of things and developed sort of a world view approach. I like to think they did me a favor.

Yes. You are absolutely right. That is actually something I point out to fanatics who embrace the "one god and only one god" belief. You can have lots of gods. But the Judeo-Christian god is arrogant and egotistical, and it even SAYS that he is a Jealous God! He wants to come first. Like a toddler, I guess. He must play with all the toys in the toy chest first, or he throws a tantrum.

In fact, I remember reading somewhere in Genesis that other gods were mentioned, having created the other people that Cain and Seth met during their travels. My memory is fuzzy on that, though.
