Fever Dreams

Last night was crammed with insane dreams that had me bolting upright and checking myself to make sure pieces were still attached. Fingers, teeth, tongue, left arm. After another nightmare, I became convinced a storm was coming and plugged in my fully charged cell phone and gathered several small flashlights. I was barely awake and it was all automatic and instinctive. I think the cats were trying to corral and keep me in the bed. Jupiter was stretched out next to my pillow and Rose was stretched out against my legs. If I turned over onto my left side, they both woke up briefly.

I guess I slept well enough. The malaise that started last night has faded. Taking mini breaks from the novel.
