Adam came home around five-thirty this morning. On Friday, he had flown from San Francisco to New York City with a layover in Minneapolis. He had taken a train and a shuttle to his hotel in New Jersey, where he met up with friends and other concert-goers to see New Model Army (English post-punk alternative indie rock, highly poetic, slightly political and humanitarian). The band was going to kick off their thirtieth anniversary tour with two nights in the States, specifically Manhattan and Brooklyn.
On Friday, in New York City, Adam acquired a pocket-sized plush lemur on a keychain, named Mini Boing, who became the mascot and stand-in for everyone who couldn't make it to the New Model Army show. See, Adam already got a large plush lemur, named Boing for the sound it made when its belly was squeezed. This was Mini Boing. On Friday night, as the band was preparing to take the stage, Adam snuck up and attached the lemur to a wire, which hung near the keyboards. The band never noticed the lemur, but it rocked out on stage all night. On Saturday, before the second show, Adam met with the band's drummer, Michael, and explained the significance of the toy and the running gag of taking its picture everywhere. He gave Mini Boing to the drummer as a gift, and as far as we know, Mini Boing is now touring with New Model Army.

On his Facebook, Adam has over a hundred photos of the Adventures of Mini Boing in New York City with New Model Army.

As for me, I didn't actually fall asleep until four, due to pain and restlessness. We stayed in bed until three in the afternoon. Our first meal of the day included omelets made with Gjetost Ski Queen goat cheese, and New York bagels with cream cheese.

These are photos of Mini Boing. In the last photo, Mini Boing meets his new owner, the drummer of New Model Army.
