Ow, and things

Last night, while conversing with my best friends, I finally realized the psychology of Jeremy, the antagonist in my book. He's not a sociopath. He has alexithymia. This was a lovely revelation, and I must thank James again for helping me learn what happens when someone is emotionally blind and disaffected. This absolutely fits with Jeremy's character when I originally conceived him, and it has stayed with the character throughout the various drafts of the novel.
I am still in extreme, violent pain, but a dose of aspirin is helping reduce the lactic acid build-up in my legs, and various other treatments are being administered for the other kinds of pain, including prescriptions, exercises, stretches, supplements, massage, heating pads, and meditation. Stairs are my enemy currently.
Random:
I rarely go for cheap drugstore lip balms like Chapstick, with their mineral oil and petrolatum sliminess. But Blistex has impressed me with their Natural Cooling Comfort balm thing. The ingredients include nothing but botanical oils. No synthetics, except menthol. It feels awesome. The menthol feels good on my often-chewed lower lip. Also, yes, I know that Burt's Bees has an acai berry lip balm. Adam likes to buy a tube for me at random opportunities. Now I just need a goji berry lip balm that is not expensive like the one from Smashbox, and I'll be thrilled. I mean, I do have the Smashbox goji berry lip balm, but I bought it on Ebay for a fourth of the price.
I now have chocolate chip cookies. For the moment, things are all right.
