Clean

Adam is home all day today. Charlotte came over this morning. We cleaned all the things. Bleach was involved. My kitchen is practically gleaming.

I hurt so much right now I can't even articulate. But it's fine. It's awesome. I feel accomplished and stuff.

But at least stuff gets clean, right? Charlotte said that now all I have to do is maintenance that should only take a few minutes a day.

I'm really awesome at cleaning sprees, but awful at maintenance. It's because every day after doing the kitchen and whatever laundry I need to do, I'm usually too busy and/or exhausted. What's more is this damned hard wood floor! It's really old, from like the 1930s, and it's COMPLETELY awesome, but we're used to carpet, right? All our cat hair would get stuck to the carpet and we'd just vacuum it up every day. But now the cat hair has nothing to get stuck to! We're finding cat hair in the WEIRDEST places.

Oh, man, that's starting to turn me off the idea of hardwood floors in the future...

Last night as I was mopping, I had this exact thought:

"If I were blind, which would I prefer? Stupid carpets that get really dirty and would potentially look like crap because I'd never know, but would be easy to vacuum the cat hair off of? Or hardwood floors that I KNOW would always look good, regardless, but be a pain in the ass to clean?" I still decided on hardwood floors. I really love them.
