Doctor Fix

Adam encouraged me to call my general physician and make a same-day appointment, just in case the problem was worse than a migraine. With my crazy neurology, it is possible. I was able to get a 4:30 appointment.
A nurse checked me over: My blood pressure was elevated, which she said was common during a migraine. I had a temperature of ninety-nine degrees. The doctor arrived shortly after that. We talked, I told her all my symptoms, she asked me detailed questions about my symptoms. She checked me out, she tested me for soreness and tenderness, we talked some more. She asked about fibromyalgia flares and seizures. She suggested I see my neurologist soon. I told her that all I really wanted to do was lie down and curl up, and that I was barely sleeping. She kept nodding and writing everything down.
She then said that it seemed that I had an unusually severe migraine, but luckily that was all; nothing horrible. Just a really really evil migraine that was lasting longer than usual.
I explained how drugs like Tylenol, Advil, and Excedrin did nothing, and how even Soma and Flexeril merely threw weak punches at this pain. So she wrote me a prescription for Tylenol-Codeine. I'm to take it as needed, but she said I could take several per day if I need it. It's only ten pills. Who knows, I might have leftovers. The doctor said that if this migraine did not go away within a few days, I should make an emergency appointment with the neurologist. If the migraine did go away, I should make a regular appointment with the neurologist.
Adam and I went to the CVS near our house, where I got the prescription filled. Adam bought a thermometer and some fast-acting aspirin. We went home, had store-bought pizza for dinner, and watched the clouds roll in as the sky darkened. It's going to rain tomorrow. That will not help my pain.
So.
I just took a codeine pill. Might as well say goodnight now. I promised Adam I would stay awake for at least an hour after the drug hits, so we know how I'm doing. But after that, I am free to pass out.
Bulletins as they occur, when I am conscious and able.
