being water
Mar. 31st, 2003 11:11 amRe: Last entry. Water as the most powerful element. Fire? Burns. Cleanses. Destroys. Heals. Powerful? Can be killed by water. Can absorb, steam, dissolve water. Which is stronger? Which can be truly contained?
I was born in early April which by Zodiac standards makes me an Aries, a Fire sign. I was three months premature, which meant that I should have been born in early July--Cancer, a Water sign. I'm in love with a Cancer. I have the qualities of a Cancer. According to a pagan retelling of the Zodiac, I'm actually Pisces--another water sign. And in the Chinese zodiac, I am sheep/goat, in Earth.
Water, water, Fire, Earth. Should I have been Fire? Fire lives and breathes without regard for outside life. Fire lightens, brightens, illuminates, irradiates, erradicates, repairs, destroys, heals, cauterizes, nourishes, feeds, needs to be fed. Fire is bright and strong and takes no shit and throws back pain and punches and stands strong. I am not fire. I could be fire. Maybe I should have been fire.
Earth. Strong, steady, grounding, maternal, mother, lover, loving, home, deathbed,lifegiver, harsh, unforgiving, forgiving, vicious crowd, chastisting, magnifying, terrifying, beautiful, powerful, awesome. Most of all a direct link to life energies. A direct link to extreme power. Gives life, takes life, nurtures and heals and repairs, gives birth to fire, water, wind and spirit. I am daughter sister earth. I hold ground and let my loved ones come to me. I give comfort nourishment love. I give hope life innocence beauty inside. I could be earth. Not enough yet.
Water. To quote: "water has within the ability to cause great damage and is by far the most powerful of all the forces of nature. just think about it - water can extinguish fire, it moves with wind and moves earth - floods, tsunami, tidal waves, all cause more damage than any other form of natural disaster. ---- to sum up being water is fine as long as your not contained unless you choose."
Water, also, can heal and repair and cut and destroy and love and be home and be mother. Water moves and is moved but only on its own. Water stays the same yet conforms to shape yet stays water. Water is water is water. Maybe I am most like water. Yet water scares me. I fear drowning. I fear loss of control. The surge of water is the loss of control. I fear not breathing (maybe because my newborn lungs collapsed?) I fear being carried away, loss of control. Need to face fear. Need.
Wind. Blows where it will, flightly, carefree, careless, child, happy, free. Tornado, whirlwind, screamer. Resolve. Invisible. Freedom. Flight. Need to fly. Need power to be free.
Spirit, Void, Ether. So many names. Umbra. Astral. Psyche. Universe. Everything. Anything. Nameless. Deathless. Loveless. Existence. Future. Now. Then. Who is Spirit? Are we all Spirit? What is Spirit?
Water, me, contained. Choice, not choice. Bad choice. Life choice. Fear. Losing control. Carried away. Caught up in whirlwind. Burning with fever. Buried in cool soil. Alone. Not free. Contained. Contained. Break free? Help? Small pixiedust hands. Can't hold yet. Strength from water. Strength from love. I will be love. I will be strong.
