Lousy Smarch Weather
Mar. 1st, 2009 12:15 pmThis past Wednesday, Adam drove to Camp LeJeune in North Carolina to help prepare for speech that President Obama gave to the Marines on Friday. His company had been contracted to set up the audio-visual and computer equipment and Adam had been the one chosen to go there. He did not meet Obama, but he did meet several Marines and had fun chatting with people. He wound up teaching a couple of young Marines The Devil's Handshake, which is one of my favorite martial art combat moves. He was home late Friday night. He got a call from his boss earlier today. On Tuesday, he will fly to Chicago, set up a job, and then fly to Los Angeles to set up a job. It will be around a week, total. He'll be home next Wednesday.
He has worked nearly eighty hours in one week, and will probably work close to than next week. And now that he has made a name for himself as a contractor working with the White House, he may be in even more demand. I am proud of him.
Charlotte came over yesterday and she and I will be going out again today. It snowed last night. It will snow again tonight and into tomorrow. I will leave early in the morning to make sure I am not late for work. The DC Metrorail is notorious for delays, malfunctions, overcrowding, and general problems that usually mean headaches for everyone.
