Snow and relief
Mar. 2nd, 2009 08:07 pmThankfully, my evaluation meeting at work went well. I am now actually able to let myself relax. My boss and I discussed where I need to improve, what my strengths are, and what will happen in the coming months that will increase my responsibilities. Afterward, back in my own office, I let out a massive exhale and prepared to get pizza from one of the conference rooms -- the office offered pizza for lunch because of the snowfall.
This morning when I walked to the bus, I could not see the difference between sidewalks, streets, parking lots, and grass. It was all pure, smooth gleaming snow. I still rolled my eyes, however. It was barely six inches, and compared to all the other states and cities that had been hit with several feet of snow, this was nothing to wail about.*
*Wailing about snowstorms is common in this area. So is raiding the grocery stores and depleting entire stocks of bread, milk, toilet tissue, cat food and litter, and canned goods, especially at the first hint of a dusting. Oh, silly people, you get snow every winter, you realize.
Adam will have another day before he needs to fly out. Yay husband.
