strange dream

I don't know what to make of this one. It all happened at night. I had a baby. I don't remember giving birth, but there was this infant baby girl, about two months old, and she was mine. People I know were there, giving me advice on how to hold her, feed her, etc. The one thing I remember most is how I picked her up, in just a diaper, to look her over, and apparently she had very long toenails, because I got a little scratch on my arm (I could even feel it, both in the dream and when I woke up). I looked at the person next to me and said Oh yeah, I'll have to trim her nails soon.
She was a very pretty baby, and I'm not saying that because everyone always thinks babies are beautiful. This was a truly beautiful baby. Almost awe-inspiring.
I remember having an aerial view of a dark blue convertible, where a heavyset woman was in the driver's seat, just sitting there, holding my baby and saying something about proper feeding to help her grow up even more beautiful. I remember holding the baby very carefully, supporting her head, and how light and soft she was, and how we just looked at each other. She had very deep blue eyes with a gray tint and flecks of gold, and a full, soft mouth. Strangely intelligent look.
When she opened her mouth and cried, I woke up. I didn't just wake up--I sat bolt upright, and for some reason I was gasping for breath and my eyes felt wet. I have no clue what it means.
