sassi214 is right, but so is xemcats. Just guidelines and recommendations. We can hope. And yet guidelines that all people, men and women, should hope to strive for. It's about health -- not regulation.

Date: 2006-05-17 06:32 pm (UTC)I don't plan to have kids for several years. Yes, I'm still taking care of myself, but I'm not treating my body like nothing more than a vessel to pop a kid out of. When I'm ready to have kids, I'll shift my health concerns. If I end up with a mistake before then, I will abort as soon as I know. Simply because I'm not mentally, emotionally or finically ready to have a child. If I had one now I'd probably screw it up and not give it the best life I can offer.
For me, it's less the terms used and more the pattern that's developed. I've watched womens rights be chipped away more and more these past few years, starting with the "mini abortions" concept allowing doctors and pharmacies to refuse giving b/c to women and this being SUPPORTED. To that one state (the state has slipped my mind) illegalizing abortion. To the concept of teaching kids abstance in sex ed instead of educating them on ways of protecting themself IF they decide to have sex. This countries idea of sex is getting more and more screwed up.
