I guess I am just naive

Mmm.
J. and I talked. I should have known better than to assume. As it turns out, M. did not want to join our little Druid group at all. S. was drunk and mistook her questions and mild interest for extreme interest; and he in fact was the one who suggested that she join. Which is not what he told me. It is typical. The man is rather well known for embellishments anyway. C. knows this; she has worked with him for years. It has gotten to the point where it is just easier to nod and smile. I mean, he is a very good Druid and knows what he's doing... but when he gets pleasantly drunk he loves to talk. Ramble. A lot. I will remind myself to never talk Druid or magicks stuff with him when he is drunk. When he's sober, he is fine. It's weird.
Things were cleared up. No tension at all. In fact, M. and J. agreed with me on all counts that M. shouldn't join, for those reasons. That was interesting.
I don't plan on confronting S. because it is not necessary. He's harmless. He just misinterprets.
However, my eyes are open a little wider. I'd rather know things for myself, by myself, then follow a teacher to every word. Besides, talking with dragons is a legitimate hobby for some of us.
