2. I dreamed up his name. Jeremy just popped into my head, and Heller came from remembering a character from a cancelled Sci-Fi show called "Earth 2".
3. I needed a character who became so overwhelmed by his own power that it possessed him and essentially destroyed him from the inside out.
4. He grew up in an orphanage; his parents died mysteriously when he was five. He was placed in a high security mental instutition when he was seventeen.
5. He will either destroy the world or save it; or both. But he will do so by attempting to unravel the entire fabric of reality.

7. Jeremy has a self-inflicted scar on the underside of his penis. His secret love is Dana Ryan. TMI: He began having sex when he was eleven, and he enjoys sadomasochism.

1. After he realized his desire for Dana in his teen years, he decided that while he'd have sex with other women, he would save the "best parts" for her, and thereby marked himself in a very intense way to prove to himself that she was the only woman who could ever make him whole. Yes, he is very disturbed. *ahem*
2. Because he is a psychopath, he doesn't really feel the way most people do. The best comparison I can think of is the character Dexter from that ShoTime show, "Dexter." He sees sex as just something to do. And in his preteen years, he became obsessed with the human body, especially females. Shortly after his eleventh birthday, he hit early puberty, and raped a girl at the orphanage. Later he found girls who had been molested as young children and wanted sex.
3. Authorities linked his rapes, murders, and psychic intrusions to his inability to control his telepathy, and the fact that something was chemically broken inside him. He is completely unable to empathize with someone else. So they institutionalized him to try and find out if they could help him.
4. Losing control of his obsessions, particularly Dana.
5. He and Dana grew up together in the orphanage; they first met when she was 13 and he was 15. He sensed that she would be one of the most powerful psionics in the world and became fascinated because she had so many psychic blocks, amnesia. He probed her, which was so harsh it was considered rape. He then realized that she was the only thing in the world that could make him feel, really feel. And he began an obsession.

8. He likes to collect shiny, colorful objects, and he loves to read. He reads anything, but mostly philosopy.

2. Ian was the name of a character I had been writing in various incarnations and stories since I was thirteen. His last name was originally Anderson, before I decided I wanted a more Irish name.
3. When I was 13, I began dreaming about a young man named Ian who turned into a dragon on the astral plane. I had no idea who he was, but he was very connected to a young woman whose name was Dana, who became an astral firebird.
4. Ian and his twin brother, Alex, were child prodigies in technology, physics, chemistry, and biology. Their parents were an award-winning geneticist and an award-winning physicist.
5. He will be the consort, lover, and savior of the Phoenix host, but his love for her may be a downfall that might destroy the world.

7. Embarrasing fact: Ian tried to fly off the roof when he was ten and broke a few bones. Secret love: Shiny things (naturally). TMI: He knows how to perform tantric sex for hours at a time.

Bridget August.. because I've been drawn to that name for a while now

2. Bridget's first name is inspired by the Celtic goddess Brigit, goddess of healing, fire, creativity. Her last name, August, is inspired by the normally hottest month of the year, and because the pagan harvest festival Lughnasadh is on August 1st.
3. Bridget is the great great great grandmother of Dana Ryan. She is full-blood Irish and descended from the Tuatha de Dannan. She is also a ghost.
4. Bridget was the first host to take on the Phoenix avatar in several centuries. She was a vigilante of sorts, trying to bring down and lock away the Shadow at the time. When she won the battle, she was imprisoned in a mental hospital, and was released after her psionic powers proved useful to the government. She married soon after. After she gave birth to a daughter, the Phoenix left her to wait for its next host. At the time of the novel, Bridget is dead, yet is able to cross fully into the astral plane to speak with the living whenever she wants, one of the few dead spirits with that ability.
5. Bridget will play a large, if unknown, role in the coming war to keep reality from imploding. Being dead, she will be able to go places no one else can.

7. Bridget's embarrassing fact is (was) her love of soap operas. Her secret love is (was) chocolate. TMI: She was a virgin until she met her future husband.

2. Alex's name went through some transitions, out of all my characters. The twins' last name was originally Anderson, and Alex's name was Thomas. Then, The Matrix movie came out, and I decided that Neo was a better Thomas Anderson. I also wanted a more Irish name, something significant. "Morgan" meant "of the sea" and Alex is a powerful name, so there you go.
3. Alex was the easiest character to create. Ian needed a twin brother, and Alex's personality was the most fun to make. He came to me very quickly and completely.
4. Alex was prodigy in physics and chemistry. He loved playing with technology. He has always been very sensitive and empathetic, and has always been better at psychic defense than offense. He is a 20th century history buff.
5. He will come up against Jeremy in a psychic battle that will test his strength and show him how far his powers can go.
6. Ask me ten questions.
7. Most embarrasing fact: Despite the fact that he idolizes his "older" twin, he has tried (and failed) to attempt a few somewhat grandiose social climbings. Secret love: Cooking and healing. TMI: He tends to be very blunt when it comes to discussions about private bodily functions.

1. Cotton and silk blend pants and shirts

3. Sushi, buffalo, and anything very exotic
4. Sort of, but more like a weird telepathic thing that nobody understood
5. Kara
6. His powers act like a carapace; shielding himself and anything within a certain radius. He can very quickly "pull himself" into that shield, like a turtle with its shell, and the shield is impossible to penetrate. He's able to "snap" his power out and back with lightning speed, making it deadly when it strikes. As far as personal qualities, he's shy and quiet and observant for the most part, looks younger than his age, and likes to take life at a slow, leisurely pace and can be infuriatingly calm and deceptively passive.

No more? Oh, but that was fun? C'mon, try... just four more...

2. I was having trouble coming up with a name for my main character's best friend, so a friend suggested Kayla. Upon further thought, I changed it to Kara because I preferred the sound more. Walker came because her family is Scottish.
3. Kara comes from a part of me that is protective and fierce and very strong socially, a part I've never full experienced.
4. Kara has a trust fund and an inherited house from a weathly aunt. She was promiscuous as a teenager. She and Dana met in college.
5. She is going to be a very strong link between Dana and Ian when something terrible happens to Dana.

7. Embarrassing fact: She's not proud of some of her sex acts in the past. Secret love: Animals. TMI: Her unique powers let her prevent pregnancies and sexual diseases without contraception.

2. Her mother and father live elsewhere, while she lives in her wealthy aunt's home (an inheritance).
3. Oh, no, she's not that kinky. ;)

7. Somewhat. Her mother's family is rich, but they don't make a habit of displaying the wealth.
