Yesterday, today, and tomorrow chronicle Adam's job at the Washington Hilton (aka the Hinckley Hilton) near Dupont Circle. Yesterday and today, we carpooled together, leaving the house at six so he could get to the hotel by seven. I walked to the Dupont Circle metro and took the train to Gallery Place, but before doing that I spent some time with my husband in the empty set-up room with the laptops. After work, I went back and met Adam at the hotel, where we stayed until eight. I will do the same tonight, so we can go home together.
And then, last night.

Last night was... bad. After we got home. My tension headache had started around three yesterday, and by the time "Heroes" came on at nine, the pain had turned into a full-blown migraine. My entire right shoulder was on fire because of some insane muscle tension, and that led to tension everywhere. I couldn't function. Couldn't stand up straight, could barely walk. Too sensitive for light and noise. Managed some Excedrin and some Passion Flower. Couldn't eat. That was the worst, I couldn't eat. Finally, after "Heroes," Adam came upstairs where I was curled up in bed, and began massaging my shoulders and neck. I sobbed and screamed and wailed, and he massaged and stretched me until I was in a fetal position on the bed, gulping air like water. I couldn't control my muscles enough to stretch myself. I couldn't move my body without his help. The CP can be that bad when combined with migraine pain, yes. He helped me with some basic physical therapy for the CP (he's not licensed but he's had two decades of experience from working with his little brother), and then the Excedrin and Passion Flower kicked in, and I relaxed enough, and I was able to sleep, fitfully. I will be seriously looking into more physical therapy soon. I haven't had it in eleven years.
This morning, Adam took me to get breakfast, and I managed half an egg and bacon sandwich on wheat toast, saving the rest for when I got to work. I had not eaten in eighteen hours. That's how bad the pain had been.
I still hurt.

Fuck, this hurts. It's really hard to move my right arm without pain. How fun.

Also, I really do not understand what possesses people to play loud, booming music from midnight until two in the morning on a work night (the neighbors). I understand if you can't sleep and you like your music, but there is such a thing as headphones and volume control. Not everyone needs to listen to your super-loud music while they're trying to sleep.

I feel horrible for Adam. There is a severe knot in his shoulder causing intense, intense pain. But the difference there between him and me is that he won't let it bring him down. I need to learn how to do that.

*hugs*

I am sorry you had the headache/shoulder spasm from hell yesterday. I'm glad that Adam was able to help and that you eventually found some relief.

you were feeing so crappy.. not sure what was in the ethers I just know I had a migraine, too, which started around 3:00 am and hung around all the way to the airport, all day coming through plane changes, lasting until this morning... in my OWN home. Such a blessing to have your Adam to touch and heal your body. Feel better!!
