We have a new cat.

Back in March, Charlotte began seeing a white and gray cat wandering the woods around her house. Over time, Charlotte coaxed the stray to her with bowls of dry cat food, and eventually the stray warmed up to her and began looking for affection. Last week, Charlotte brought the cat into her house, but her own three cats didn't take too well to a new cat. So, Friday night, Adam and I went over there and took the stray to our house. She spent the night in the spare bedroom with a litter box and some food. This morning, we took her to the vet, named her Penelope, got her checked out, got her vaccinated, and gave her flea and tick medication, as well as bought some for Luna and Jupiter. Because Penelope had been through enough stress and needed time to adjust, the vet recommended that we wait to get her fixed until her next distemper shot in a month. So, in December, we'll go back and get her spayed. She appears to be about a year and a half to two years old and is very affectionate and sweet. We are slowly letting her and the other two cats get to know each other. There was some hissing, and Jupiter seems more scared than hostile. Luna, naturally, is very curious and tried to sniff her before getting a smack on the head. Over time, I think, they will warm up to each other, all three of them.
A big issue is whether or not Penelope could be pregnant, because we can't tell. However, we'll find out in a month when we take her back to the vet. I'm not too worried about it right now.
I'm just happy we could save a cat's life and give it a good, happy home.
So that's been my weekend so far. How was yours?
