a good deed

On Saturday, we delivered a small electronic concert organ to Adam's younger brother, Michael, in his group home for disabled adults in Annapolis. And it was the greatest physical gift I have ever seen anyone receive.
Earlier last week, Adam found on craigslist an Allen Protege organ. It was for free. Small enough to fit in a bedroom, heavy enough to need help moving it. Adam got permission from the group home to bring it to Mikey. So Adam got hep from Billy, John, Aaron, and Joey, and went to DC with the green van, and got the organ, and brought it back, and on Saturday, we all gathered at Billy's house: Adam, me, Beth, John, Vicky, Aaron, Charlotte, and Billy. And we took the green van and Vicky's van and drove to Annapolis. Mikey was so happy to hear and feel and "see" us, and kept laughing and wriggling in my arms on the couch, as the boys hauled the organ and bench into his bedroom. When it was set up against the wall, Adam took Mikey in and sat him down on the bench, and Mikey began to hit the keys and the foot pedals, and he laughed and laughed. Vicky had a video camera and we got some of it on film. I've never seen Mikey so happy. I cried.
He now has a real organ, that plays beautiful music, and he can really learn to play.
Oh, I wish you could have seen it, those of you who know Michael.
Now you can, sort of:
