Since Adam became an election judge, he had to be at the local elementary school -- where our neighborhood would vote -- by six this morning. I went with him, as there was a bus stop up the street that would go to the metro station. I sat and read my book as Adam and the other judges set up, and at ten to seven I waited in line outside the room, as people began filing in. I was the second person to cast a vote. I'm registered as a Democrat (though a Centrist/Libertarian in my heart), and I went through the process, put my vote in for Barack Obama, handed my card to the guy, blew a kiss to my husband, and headed out for the bus. It was phenomenally cold. My Raynaud's flared up instantly. It took about an hour for me to be able to feel my toes again.

Interesting... I don't know how long the 'shift' of an election judge is, but if it's long enough, your husband might meet my dad. He's an election judge in the evening. (And lives in Montgomery Village, so I have reason to think that the high school at which he'll be an election judge is likely to be the same as the one at which your husband is.)

I love the interconnectedness of the world. I 'met' you through Shadesong and Beca. You live near where my parents (and I used to) live. It's... holy? I'm having emotions/thoughts that I can't put into words. I have a feeling you might know what I mean though.

Hope you're feeling a bit better by the time you read this.
*warm gentle hugs*

Adam will be at the Mill Creek Elementary all day -- until nine. We'll see!

I know what you mean. There are so many thoughts, too.

Are you kidding, he made sure everyone voted for Ron Paul and John McCain -- he's a registered Republican now. They're the only Republican candidates I like, anyway.
But, you know, at least our marriage is politically balanced. We're both Libertarians at heart, and we're registered on each side of the spectrum.

Yes, I need electric mittens and footies! I will gladly take your footies.
Also, that reminds me -- can we go to Target or Wal-Mart this weekend? I need leggings, so I can wear them under my slacks instead of tights or pantyhose.

I thought that people who worked/voluntereed at polling stations had to be at least 65 years old. Well, at least around here they are all dotering sweet old ladies that you have to shout at so they can hear you.

As far as I know, you can be any legal voting age. I've never heard of the senior thing. :)
