How many times has someone on your friends list posted about something and you were really confused, but you didn't want to ask because you knew you SHOULD know? How many times have you felt 'guilty' asking a close LJ friend a question that should be 'obvious'?

Well, here's your chance. If you've missed a few things, missed an entry and are confused, ask me anything. Even something EXTREMELY basic, like where I live! I'm not going to get irritated at any of the questions - we've all missed things before, so ask away!

(Seriously, anything. As many questions as you want. Personal, medical, sexual, all the minute details, etc. Nothing off-limits.)

I'm interested to know more about your religion or spirituality or whatever you may call it. You make comments at times about bits of it, but I've never quite figured out what you believe.

In few words: I am an eclectic polytheist pagan.

In more words: My spirituality is fluid. I practice witchcraft, and sorcery to an extent, especially with my husband. I have varied beliefs that are very similar to Celtic paganism (Druidry), Shamanism, Animism, and Taoism. I don't pigeonhole myself into any one path or religion. As my husband says, "I am the religion of me." I believe that the divine, whether you call it God, gods, the Universe, what have you, exists everywhere, in everyone, and can be easily touched without middlemen such as priests or temples or churches. I've dedicated myself to goddesses from several different pantheons, but I never ever combine them when I do rituals, as that would be weird and pointless to me.
I study different forms of magic and I'm always seeking ways to enlighten myself about the universe. I have a natural affinity for manipulating and sensing various kinds of energy, so I like to work with my hands and my mind and I've been reseaching forms of touch healing.
I believe in spirit guides and guardians, and have had a few who have been with me for a long time. I believe that when we die, we don't go to any sort of heaven, but rather back to the universal/cosmic flow of energy that started it all. We can be reborn, live many lives, but in the end it all comes back to energy. I believe that life, the spirit, the soul itself, starts late in gestation or even right at birth. I believe we can have many worlds inside our own minds, and that science is only just beginning to touch the abilities of the human mind. I believe humans are capable of much more than they think. I believe everything is connected somehow.

I've encountered some pagans online who try to shun me or snark me or label me for being such a complex eclectic, but I take it in stride. Of course I am complex. I believe people should always be searching for parts of themselves, because we are constantly changing, moving, flowing.
I put a lot of what I believe in my novel, and the characters go through many spiritual changes too.

Oi! I have an acquaintance who is from Scandinavia and embraces a more strictly "traditional" form of the Scandinavian pagan religions. She loves to scoff at American neo-paganism. Of course she loves to scoff at all things American (inherently inferior to the more liberal and enlightened European institutions). It gets old quickly. So even though I am not pagan I can sympathize with your position.

See, and I can't quite understand how one could be so strictly traditional -- there's so much out there, how can you not want to learn all you can?

("Liberal and enlightened" eh? And yet she scoffs. Interesting. Honestly? Some of the most bigoted people I've ever met have called themselves such. But I digress.)

Hmmm

Happy Valentine's day, sweetie, to you and your lovely wife (I love that story of how you met, by the way).

You can ask all the questions you want. I look forward to answering them.
