Shiny Things

I took my body for a nice good walk today. Adam had to work at a hotel in VA, so I had the afternoon to myself.
I wanted to go to Sephora and a Borders Express, and the only place I could do that in was the Montgomery Mall in Bethesda -- I actually like this mall; it is well-spaced and won't make me panicky and sick.
I got my lipsticks in Sephora (Laura Mercier's Stickgloss Lip Colour in Cranberry and Vincent Longo Velvet Riche Rejuvenating Lipstick in Dakota Red). In Borders, I got Kim Harrison's For A Few Demons more and Kelley Armstrong's No Humans Involved. On my way downstairs to find lunch, I saw a kiosk for something called Seacret, which sells skin care based on dead sea salt and mud. The young man there told me that they had just opened and were promoting, and he sold me a facial peeling milk scrub and a nail care kit for half off the sticker prices because he liked my knowledge of good skin care. He demonstrated everything for me. Since I have never buffed, polished, and glossed my fingernails outside of a salon, I was amazed and delighted at the little buffing block. It is the most awesome thing I have ever done for my nails. I hate nail varnish and polish, so having smooth shiny glossy nails without gunk is awesome. However, I am sure that there are similar nail buffing/polishing/glossing blocks out there that are sold individually, so I'll be looking. But in the meantime, the Seacret buffing block is my new favorite beauty toy. Oh, hey, look, I just found the exact same buffing/shining block! Yay! Mine! I love that facial peeling milk scrub, too; it is quite gentle yet very effective. I'd buy it again.
I went to a Caribou Coffee kiosk and asked for a double espresso with vanilla and chocolate. They gave it to me in a nice big cup and I filled it up with milk and it was so very delicious.
I took the bus back to the Bethesda metro station and walked the ten minutes to Trader Joe's for their lemon hand soap, some SmartWater, and some Kashi GoLean Crunchy Bars in Chocolate Peanut. The Kashi bars are addictive.
I walked long and hard. I power walked. I walked until my muscles complained and I kept going. I feel good about it.
