I found this as an icon and then as a list:

TOO many people like TO think they are trendy by substituting numbers FOR letters or words.

2 is a number. It denotes a quantity. It is neither a preposition nor an adjective.

4 is also a number. It too denotes a quantity. Like the number two. It is not a preposition. It is spelled F-O-R. Try it sometime.

"Wat" is a Buddhist temple in Cambodia or Thailand. "Wut" is not a word. They are by no means Pronouns.

Do not treat them like a Pronoun. Do you know W-H-A-T I am saying?

"lol" is NOT a punctuation mark. Don't end sentences with it. Try using a period, question mark, or exclaimation point.

If you think that everything you type is so damn funny, chances are, we are laughing AT you. Not WITH you.

"r" is a letter. It is not a word. When A-R-E you going to understand that?

"ur" is the sound of uncertainty. It does not mean "Your", "You're" or "You are".

How much time do you save by typing "u" instead of "Y-O-U"?

Is the time savings worth looking like you are uneducated?

"4 is also a number. It too denotes a quantity. Like the number two. It is not a preposition. It is spelled F-O-R. Try it sometime."

Unfortunately this note is written in an ambiguous manner. The author is refers to the number four when she uses the pronoun "it" in the second and third complete sentences ("It too denotes a quantity." and "It is not a preposition."). However in the fourth complete sentence "it" apparently refers to the preposition rather than the number, because the number four is obviously not spelled "f-o-r". For an extra twist the final "it" seems to refer to the correct use of the written word "for". This is yet another subject implied by "it"! One should really be very careful when throwing pronouns about. ;)

It's true that adding the irony of catching an error in a criticism makes the temptation to pick nits simply overwhelming.

The hardest part of dealing with text messages is the fact it takes much longer to decipher the message than to send the long hand form. With predictive text, its much harder typing the shortened text anyway.
