I loved Fred sooo much. Her death scene just absolutely broke my heart. I can't watch it without crying.

Of course, I did like the character of Illyria (though I didn't think they did enough with her) so all that season I was torn - I wanted Fred back for Wesley (sp?) but wanted Illyria to stick around. Ah Joss, how I love-and-hate thee. :D

That was the second time I got really mad at Joss (after Tara's death). Fred was awesome. Fred and Tara rule!

I would have hoped that they could have let Fred and Ilyria share the body...

He always kills off the most innocent characters. :( I cried when Tara got shot in "Buffy," even though I knew it was coming because I watched it on the DVD for the first time and I already heard about it from people who watched the episode when it first aired. So cruel.

Joss has such a reputation for this that his name has now become a term: "Jossed". In general, it applies to the killing off of a main character that is (usually) in or beginning a happy relationship. See also Serenity.

Nope, I haven't. I have only watched the first season. We no longer got the channel that showed "Angel" after the first season aired because we needed to cut down on expenses. But I will go out and buy the DVDs once I get the money.
