Happy Summer Solstice

Shopping at international food markets is always amusing. We bought a three liter can of olive oil for fifteen dollars -- the price of one liter. We bought a liter of red wine vinegar for two dollars. We bought 56 oz of sesame seed oil for under ten dollars, a two gallon jug of soy sauce for six bucks, a huge bag of fine sea salt for five bucks, a small bag of sesame seeds for under five dollars, and a bunch of lettuce, alfalfa sprouts, and fruit for cheap as well. Adam bought a few pounds of monkfish, which he cooked up to look and taste like lobster tail, with a garlic butter sauce on the side. Monkfish is delicious, but is ugly as hell and rather terrifying when its mouth is open.
Rose is still phenomenally adorable. I'm pretty sure she's won Jupiter's heart. They were lapping up a plate of Whiskas cat milk side by side. Luna is tolerating her slightly better now, as well.
Adam is doing well with his back brace. I pulled a muscle in my own back, on my left side near my ribs. Fun. I may decide to take a second Soma pill in a few hours if the pain doesn't lessen.
Now, some chocolate ice cream for dessert.
Oh, and Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread.
