Better(ish)

I have finally stopped being exhausted, sore, stiff, drained, and burned out. Go me.
Just for the hell of it, while at CVS this morning after getting out of the train station, I bought one of those energy shots - Zantrex-3 Insta Shot. I decided the ingredients were worth it, even though it tasted appallingly like orange cough drops and sucralose*. Half a bottle got me through the whole day and also my headache went away. It was also the only drugstore energy shot I could find that contained yerba mate. It also contained rhodiola, which reminded me to get the new bottle of rhodiola capsules out of the supplement drawer.
Adam will be home this weekend, possibly even Friday night!
I may have mentioned (or not) that Rose has some raccoonish habits: She likes to wash her toys. In her water dish. I was very glad I remembered that when I woke up from a dream at four in the morning, fumbled for the blanket, and jolted awake when my hand landed on something soft, mushy, and wet. In my half-asleep state, I wondered if one of the cats had coughed up a hairball, so I bolted out of bed, grabbed a handful of tissues, and scooped up the mess before I realized how solid it was. I blinked, stared, and then sighed. It was a tail. The cats have a few furry mouse toys with flat, fuzzy tails, and at some point, one of the cats yanked the tail off one of the black mice, and Rose got into the habit of carrying it around and expecting us to play fetch with it. This, however, was the first time she'd washed it. I had tossed it in the trash already and was not about to retrieve it, so Rose will have to live without. She can have her hair ties, pipe cleaners, and those plastic rings used to seal juice bottles.
*So apparently they're putting sucralose in everything nowadays. I don't know if this is better or worse than high fructose corn syrup.

Date: 2009-05-03 02:04 pm (UTC)they use it in those energy shots because they're trying to avoid the sugar crash that comes w/ sugar or hfcs as a sweetner - and from what i can tell, it works - i haven't tried the brand you listed, but i do use 5 hour energy (although 1/2 a bottle is plenty) once in a while if i'm crashing really hard and must stay awake - that half bottle will keep me awake and functional for about 6 hours, no problem
oh, and i find they taste less horrid if they're cold, so i usually keep a few in the fridge door - a lot less disgusting than monster or red bull imho (and it's one sip rather than a whole can - ick)
