Adam got Jupiter's rabies shot this afternoon. As soon as I had the information, I called the lady at the animal shelter and left the appropriate message. Tonight when I checked my voice mail on the house phone, there was a message from a woman named Karen -- she wanted to come and do an interview!
I left her a message saying that tomorrow evening would be good. If all goes well, there is just one thing left -- wait for complete approval, and wait for the phone call that will tell me to come sign the contract and take my kitten home. I imagine that will happen within a few quick days if the home visit goes well.

Adam leaves on Thursday. He needs to be in Denver on Saturday. He will be home on the 22nd, which is a Thursday. He will be away for just over two weeks. He just came home from Las Vegas on Saturday, mind you. It hasn't even been a week. Thank the gods for the strength of my heart. I have to smile when I overhear girls moaning about being unable to see their boyfriends for a few days. I always wonder how they would handle not being able to see their beloveds for weeks at a time.

fat boy needs to change jobs - i know larry has people who could do the job in denver that aren't married but who does he send. you husbands boss has no regard for him as a person or your feelings. your husband needs to stop being ah coward and tell larry what the fuck is up. i know he hates be away so maybe he should say something to larry like "fuck you chuckie" - he wanted a house that was his own so he could do what he wanted but he is never there - he IS NOT COMPENSATED properly for the amount of travel that he does, by wife when she travels gest more for her dinner than his per diem normally is per day. Neither him nor him should take this.

i think you mean "neither he nor you".
but i concur. not that adam shouldn't have to travel (i mean, *i* have to travel), but why does he ALWAYS have to travel? it seems so unfair... he owns a house, has a wife, and is always being sent all over the country. meanwhile i am sure there are people at the company who would love the chance to go out to denver for awhile. why can't they do it, and adam stay home with you? like i said, it just seems so damn unfair.
and yes, i wail my pretty head off when james and i are apart for more than a day...but it's largely because when he's gone, i'm alone. you at least have dan and jason, charlotte and billy, lena. i have nobody but the critter when he is away, and when i am away all i do is work. so i guess it's different.

Unfortunately, Adam IS the best Larry has at this shit. Lex doesn't ever want to leave the shop, Dan is needed in the shop, and everyone else lacks Adam's skills.
It shatters me, most days.
It is unfair.

Trust me, if I were alone, I'd be wailing too. But when he is gone so often, I can't allow myself to afford to...
