I plan on getting a small (affordable) allergy arsenal at Whole Foods, plus extra pet wipes for the cats. It's starting, and it's already getting brutal.
I wish I could remember the best foods to eat to cut down on allergy-driven inflammation. All I can think of is high doses of Vitamin C, and locally harvested honey, and spirulina. I'll be taking some more of the boss' Pollinosan shortly.

I love spring. I do. But nobody loves pollen.

Oh, and if you don't have and use a neti pot, buy one.

I HIGHLY recommend it. It is weird at first, but I tell you, it has helped tremendously overall.

I'm feeling your pain. I've taken three claritins so far this year (after several years of not bothering w/ it b/c it stopped working) and the first two worked, this last one didn't. :( I was hoping it'd last a little longer this season.

Pollen can go to hell.

Vitamin C w/bioflavonoids helps tremendously.

Particularly in "mega doses to bowel tolerance". :)

I love pollen because I like having new generations of plants. ;) I'm happy to see the plants busily reproducing. That being said, I would be even happier if it would finally rain down here and wash some of the yellow film off of everything it's settled on and clean out the air for a while.

Let me amend that then.
Todarilla loves pollen. ;)

dairy (esp cheese and milk) and excess protein are the best things to cut out to reduce allergy symptoms and mucus production (ew).

Have you ever tried Emergen-C? It's a tangerine-flavoured fizzy powder that you add to water. It's got ultra doses of Vitamin C, plus other immune and energy boosters. Very tasty and really helps w/ allergies and colds. You can find it at just about any drugstore.

I've tried it; it's okay. I may have to test out all the flavors before I decide which ones I like. :)
