Total Fatigue Day.
Perennial allergies -- severe -- for the past few days. Inflammation all over, especially knees, ankles, and neck. Spasticity. Tension. Lowered seizure threshold. Freezing hands and feet.
I am giving myself permission to complain.
Dear body, get better or else.

I've been doing some research on cerebral palsy's effects overall, how it leads to other disorders and problems down the road. Things my doctors never explained. I am learning about it all through talking with other members of the cerebral_palsy community.

This post made me realize many things. And made me understand just what I need to do to work with myself.
I remember physical therapy as a child. That's it. Not sitting down with various doctors to discuss what might happen in my adult years with other medical problems; certainly not epilepsy or inflammatory disorders or allergies or fatigue problems or breathing problems or hypersensitivity or anxiety. Then again, everyone was too busy concentrating on the therapy. I understand.

I'm not exhausted enough to want to sleep, not energized enough to even climb stairs.

Lunch break in less than an hour. I'll see how I feel after food. No refined sugars. My body asks for chicken and mushrooms and citrus fruit, maybe a banana. My boss should have his miraculous homeopathic allergy anti-inflammatory tincture in the office if I still feel like hell.

Oh, I know what you mean.
One thing that your post recalls to my mind is that I went through years of physical therapy that they only said was supposed to improve me. They never addressed (to me) that I would always have these atrophied muscles, this imbalance, and importantly, that it isn't my fault I couldn't fix it. Only in the past few years have I come to accept it more through yoga and other bodywork.

Hope you feel better today.

I'm starting to think many doctors don't know as much as they claim. Is it disturbing that I've learned more about all my health problems and disorders from other people than it is professional doctors??

Please tell me more about this.

I just wrote an entry about my allergies, etc. and some herbal supplements I thought I'd try-- if you have time, your feedback and suggestions would be appreciated

It's called Pollinosan. The boss and nicknamed it "battery acid" because it burns. However, it's amazing. You shake about 20 drops under your tongue, and you have to keep the liquid there, under your tongue, for a full minute at least. That's where the burning comes in, partly because it has a bit of alcohol, partly because of all the ingredients. Whenever I take it, I stamp my feet and wince and breathe really hard -- and then once sixty seconds are up, I grab a bottle of water and chug it and wash the stuff down. And within minutes, I feel complete and total relief. Symptoms are completely gone. No more allergies. It lasts for hours.

There are tablets and nasal spray versions of Pollinosan, but I was introduced to the liquid, so that is what I'm used to. I think you can find it at places like Whole Foods, too.

That reminds me, I should buy some for myself. Maybe the tablets, though. I don't think they will burn quite as much!

It's good you're learning about these things - you're in charge of your body and it's you who ultimately needs to care for it.
